WALKER PACK COLLECTION IS BETWEEN TUESDAY, 15 AND SATURDAY, 19 OCTOBER 2019. 10:00 TO 19:00 AT MARKS PARK.

ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS

Online Entries: Tickets can be bought online with a valid credit card or debit card displaying a Master Card or Visa symbol. simply use the booking system below. If it doesn’t display (it can take a couple of seconds to load) then you can use the direct link here.

EFT Transfer: Don’t want to use a credit / debit card to purchase online? You can also use our InstantEFT system in the checkout section of our online booking system. In person: Enter at the 2019 iThemba Walkathon venue, Marks Park, Emmarentia. Collections of entry packs and late entries will be available 15 – 19 October from 10am to 7pm each day. There will be no entries available on the day of the event.

INSTORE ENTRIES

Entry is only available online (until 19 October) or in person at Marks Park, Emmarentia, 10am – 7pm, 16 – 20 October. No entries on the day of the walk.

Entries at Sportmans Warehouse will open at the end of July and will be announced on social media and updated here. Entry Forms will be available for download here and in store.

Note: Make sure you drop off your hand delivered entry form at the above listed stores before Monday, 7 October 2019 (17:00) to be sure that you don’t miss out.

INCENTIVES

  • All entries will receive a special Goodie Bag. Contents may vary from bag to bag but all will include an Avon and a Justine product and a Caxton magazine.
  • The first 19, 000 entries will receive a commemorative event t-shirt. T-shirts will be available for purchase to those who did not qualify.
  • The first 1000 entries will receive a complimentary beauty product when collecting their walkers pack.

WALKER NUMBER COLLECTION INFORMATION AT MARKS PARK

• Between Tuesday,15 and Saturday, 19 October 2019:  from 10:00 to 19:00.
• Walk pack contents:  goodie bag and walk number – first 19,000 to receive a commemorative event t-shirt.

• All entries will receive a special goodie bag. Contents may vary from bag to bag but will all include an Avon and a Justine product and a Caxton magazine.
• First 19,000 participants will receive a commemorative event t-shirt. T-shirts will be available to purchase if not qualified.
• First 1000 entries qualify for exclusive beauty product (Hand Cream) which will be collected at the venue.

 

START TIMES

Wave Start time

Red (First 10,000): 07:30 Marks Park, Johannesburg

Blue (Second 10,000): 08:00 Marks Park, Johannesburg

Green (Third 10,000): 08:30 Marks Park, Johannesburg

Red group go straight to the start line. Please follow the signage at the venue which will direct you to your specific colour coded start area corresponding with the colour of your walk number. Adhering to this will help you to have a most enjoyable start.

HOSPITALITY PACKAGES AVAILABLE

The Avon Justine iThemba Walkathon provides an ideal opportunity for corporate
entertainment and team building. 

On race day all the pre and post–race action will happen in the Corporate Hospitality Village at Marks Park Sports  Club, where you can spend time with your colleagues, family and friends and enjoy time together, whilst supporting Avon Justine in their crusade against breast cancer.

We have contracted with Marks Park on the basis of compliance with their regulations. There are municipal by-laws and safety requirements to which the hospitality team and all participants must adhere. It is requested that companies take responsibility for their employees, guests and families, whilst frequenting the Corporate Hospitality Village.

information or arrange a personal meeting.

A SUCCESSFUL ENTRY

All entries require an entry form that is fully completed. Your entry will only be deemed complete and successful for processing once we have received the completed entry form AND matching payment, before the closing dates. Please ensure proof of payment is correctly cross-referenced with your TEAM name for team entries or your NAME & SURNAME for individual entries as it appears on your entry form.

TEAM ENTRIES

• Team entries can be done online or in person at manual entry points but please note that all team members have to complete a separate entry form.
• Team payment must be made by one person for all team members at the same time.
• Please use your TEAM NAME as your reference if paying by EFT or Direct Deposit.
• Your team captain must do the collection for the whole team during Walk Pack Collection (registration).

BRING ALONG

• There will be refreshment stations along the route but please also bring your own water provisions.
• Invite everyone you know to register to walk for a purpose and come support the walk and iThemba’s message Early Detection Saves Lives.
• Sunblock, hats sunglasses and comfortable walking shoes.

Park & Ride Information

East Rand Mall – R195
Parking lot next to Nandos.
Turn Corner Rietfontein Rd & Bental Rd into shopping centre, Nandos (parking area) is visible from the roadside.

Royal Elephant Hotel – R155
Bus will be parked in the main parking area of the hotel.
Corner Wierda Rd & Willem Botha St, turn into main gate Bondev Park, security will direct guest to the main parking area of the hotel

Silverstar Casino – R150
Bus will be parked in the parking lot closest to the main entrance of the casino.
From the R28, Muldersdrift turn off at Silverstar boom entrance, turn right after boom into parking area leading to the front entrance of the casino

Fairlands Walk – R95
Bus will be parked at the main entrance boom.
Corner Beyers Naude Dr & Wilson St, right into Enterprise Rd, turn right into the main parking area

ON EVENT DAY

• Start your walk with Avon Justine iThemba Ambassador and Avon Spokesperson, Kaya FM DJ’s and presenters.
• Live entertainment, with prize giveaways on stage.
• Children’s play area, toddler’s trot and focussed kids entertainment.
• Kaya FM presenters will broadcast live from the event. You can tune into 95.5 FM for live updates regarding traffic and parking on the day from 06:00.
• Food stalls to buy meals, snacks and drinks; and a variety of vendors selling their goods

Event Day Rules

NO entries will be accepted on the day of the event.

• All children are to be supervised and wearing identification wrist bands. Wristbands will be provided (on the day) at the kids area from 07:00.
• Wear your walker number visibly on the front of your chest for the duration of the walk.
• T-shirt size changes will not be permitted at registration as they have been ordered to quantity.
• Obey marshals and traffic officials at all times for your safety.
• Prams and wheelchairs are welcome.
• Park in designated parking only, cars parked illegally will be towed away. Updated parking information will be included in your walkers guide, this site and on our Facebook page.
• No skateboards, bicycles, rollerblades or wheelie shoes are allowed.
• No fires, alcohol, firearms, drugs, illegal substances or reckless and violent behavior.
• No gazebos or stand umbrellas allowed

DISCOVERY VITALITY

Unlike previous years there is no association with Discovery Vitality at this years event and participants will not qualify for points.
